Update
Almost three months since I moved to New York. I have been working
freelance for a number of people / companies in the City, but everything's
been subcontracted, nothing I can put up at Neverbeat.
I have picked up philochestudios.com,
watch for that in the next week or so. Also I have been working on
a new look for uwawa.com,
that should be out soon.
The new Flash Neverbeat site
has been a lot of fun, and I am still learning more and more. I added
the bug for fun, and as it turns out, it is a great little toy for
slow connections. On a 56K modem, you barely notice how long it takes
to load pages when you are trying to click on that damn bug.

New Flash Version of Neverbeat Released
At last, after months of toiling with a new Flash interface for my
portfolio, I decided to drop it completely. As sad as it was to see
my efforts spoiled, I had to let it go. Why? Accessibility issues,
over-complexity, and it was too damn small!
So, here is a niced new clean site with lots of room to grow. I built
it on an old 300Mhz laptop to optimize accessibility, and to make
sure it runs smoothly on older sytems, even when it's maxed out. You
must have Flash player 6 installed to see it.

Now in New York City
No more Santa Cruz, California. I have moved Neverbeat to the East
Coast, and am looking forward to a dynamic urban environment to work
in.

New Neverbeat Flash Version 2 In Progress
Just to let you all know where I am at:
I have been working heavily on a new Flash interface for Neverbeat. It's quite a lot of work, and
I still have lot to do. For those who have been asking what I'm up to, that's it. My goal is to win an award.
I have received much support and comments concerning Neverbeat lately,
thank you all for your criticism!

Website for Uwawa
Alright! New York-based Uwawa came to Santa Cruz to record his demo
album with me here. Then I did the art for it, now, in conjunction
with kerusene.com, a Flash-based website is up and running
with a mailing list, downloadable songs, including a new track, and
a performance schedule.

Website for Susan
B. Monroe
Susan Monroe is a talented watercolor painter based in Maui, and her
new HTML site is laid back and simple, letting her art do all the
talking. She offers a gallery with many paintings for sale.

New HTML Version of Neverbeat
Released on this date is the latest version of neverbeat.com. This
site is based in HTML only, and finally, there is audio
to download (Before this version mp3's were only available through
the Flash version of this site)!
This new site offers my updated portfolio, more news about me and
a new look, and a new logo (hee hee).
Watch for a new Flash Version soon, and a drum portfolio site!

Certificates Received
Received two certificates from
Cabrillo College, CA, for Proficiency in Multimedia, and Web Design
Skills. These certificates are essentially worth an Associates degree
in Digital Art, as far as I'm concerned. Feels pretty good to have
that behind me.

Media Arts 2003 Awards Program Archive
Site Prototype
Massive project, all unique components developed and working. This
site is on hold!
A proud project. This one is entirely scripted in Flash, no tweens
at all. Seriously. I spent about 200 hours on this, and it must be
seen! Although it's not finished, and might not ever get finished,
it is my best Flash work to date. I optimized it carefully, despite
the amount of content. If this project gets finished, it should be
about 80 separate pages, all told.
I took on this project for a couple of reasons: I won an award myself,
in the Media Arts 2003 Contest, and I thought this would be a great
opportunity to further substantiate the credibility of a state-wide
contest that doesn't have an official web site. Furthermore, I could
turn around and enter this site into the 2004 contest. Not to mention
a lot of people would hit this site, looking to see what made the
cake last year.

Playground Redeveloped...and
Discontinued
For all the spare parts out there. Many things start and few finish.
Such is life. So I built this site, in part as a project for school,
to house all the experiments and philosophies that haven't (yet) made
it into a pro or useful project.
Now this project is down too. But it's for the better... I just don't
have the means to keep it alive. Archiving every little thing I do
is cool, but come on, I need to get out more. I intend to accommodate
most of it in this site anyway, merge it together in a more simple
way (whatev).
Playground is no longer on line...sorry.

2003 Media Arts
Award received for Neverbeat
Flash Tutorial
Tutorial project entered into Media Arts 2003 Program sponsored by
Ed>net...won
a web design merit award. This project taught me how to teach. I have
had experiences teaching music in the past, but teaching Flash basics
to an anonymous audience meant being as explicit as possible, in a
small space. Not easy.
